WiTR to hold networking party at TFWA Asia Pacific

By Hibah Noor

WiTR’s 2019 charity initiative is Friends-International, which supports marginalized young people in Cambodia

Women in the duty free industry are warmly invited to join Women In Travel Retail (WiTR) for drinks and networking on Monday, May 13 at the TFWA Asia Pacific Bar (Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre) from 1700-1900 hours, immediately after the conference.

During this relaxed social session, there will be the opportunity to hear about WiTR’s 2019 charity initiative, Friends-International, from Colleen Morgan (The Moodie Davitt Report), who nominated this charity.

It will also give those attending the chance to meet WiTR’s new regional representative for North Asia, Erin Lillis, Travel Retail Director Asia Pacific for Lacoste. Based in Hong Kong, Lillis has been an enthusiastic WiTR member from the start and her nominated charity – Sunrise – was WiTR’s charity in 2017.

One of the main goals of WiTR, apart from fund raising, is to provide fun, social, and informative networking activities.

SE Regional representative Chandra Mahtani, Vice President T5 Commercial Planning at Changi Airport, has arranged for a limited number of WiTR members to enjoy an exclusive guided tour of the new Jewel Changi Airport on Sunday, May 12. Open only to WiTR members, places can be booked by contacting chandra.mahtani@changiairport.com.

Those who are not yet WiTR members can still join at an annual membership of €25 (US$28) by registering via the website www.womenintr.com.

Based in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Cambodia, Friends-International has projects in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia and Switzerland (serving Europe).

WiTR is aiming to raise €15,000 to give beauty salon training for 24 young women, aged 16 to 24, in Siem Reap. This will also allow them to provide for their children and siblings, improving the lives of 100 women and children in total.
