IAADFS 2017 opening day
Last year was the first year that IAADFS began holding education sessions, and it was a bit quiet. This year, perhaps in readiness for the Summit of the Americas to come in 2018 or perhaps because of more information or advance notice, the sessions were well attended.
In the first session, Gustavo Badell, from Dufry Brazil, Erasmo Orillac, from Motta International and IAADFS, and Abe Taqtaq, from Windsor Tunnel Duty Free border store, discussed the state of travel retail today, what they feel needs to change and the opportunities of the future.
After a short break, Peter Mohn, Owner and CEO of m1nd-set, and Christine Martin, Managing Director of Travel Retail Training, discussed a number of issues on the importance of engaged workers, from staff retention to sales improvements.
At 9:30 am, the trade floor ribbon was cut, and a day of meetings was followed by an evening of parties.
