Win luxury handbags with Women in Travel at TFWA
Women in Travel Retail is delighted to announce that in the few days before TFWA World Exhibition it has already raised €13k towards its Euros 25k goal to purchase a much needed truck for the Sierra Leone children’s charity “All as One”.
“It’s a fantastic start but we still have Euros 12k to go and, so really do need everyone who has not already, to support this aim,” says Gerry Munday. “As usual we will be holding a Silent Auction and amongst the many fabulous items on offer have received a very generous donation from DFSof five luxury designer handbags with a total value of €8K.”
Bid for the bags, which vary in individual value from €1k to 2k, can be left with Gerry on the Furla stand in the Bay Village B15 on Monday and Tuesday up to 1500hrs, the Silent Auction will then continue at the W.I.TR meeting on Tuesday evening.
DFS comments: “DFS is proud to support Women In Travel Retail and its initiative to encourage greater participation from women in senior roles. Through Women In Travel Retail, DFS continues to be committed towards driving change, and to promote gender diversity in the travel retail industry. “
The €13k raised so far is thanks to a very generous £10,000 from Maxxium €2,500 from TRB, plus personal donations from Martin Moodie, Stuart McGuire and Rowena Holland.
The total is achievable, continues Gerry Munday, if everyone helps by selling and buying tickets (1 business card entry for €10, three business cards for €20)
“Although WiTR is a women only group, the silent auction and prize draw are open to absolutely everybody,” says Gerry. “We’ve got some brilliant items which men would love either for themselves or the women in their lives…so please, please do help us to reach the magic number this year.”
The fund-raiser is part of WiTR’s annual TFWA World Exhibition meeting, which will take place on Tuesday October 28th (1730-1900) on level 1 in front of the newly located press Centre, near the Business Centre and Hotels Desk at the Palais des Festivals. All women in the duty free and travel retail industry are welcome to come along.
* Please deliver gifts & donations to the Furla stand (Bay Village Bay 15) by 1500 on Tuesday October 28th.
