David Ferreira is named new Head of Global Travel Retail for Cross

By Melissa Silva

Head of Global Travel Retail, David Ferreira, significantly developed Cross' travel retail business since joining the company in 2007

As of this month, David Ferreira is the new Head of Global Travel Retail for Cross. Ferreira will define the worldwide travel retail strategy, be involved in worldwide agreements with global partners and offer guidance to local sales teams. He will identify successful programs that will be adapted to the travel retail environment (duty free stores, airport newsstands, cruise ship shops, ferries, border stores, airlines, etc.).

The travel retail industry has several multi-billion dollar global operators and growth in this channel requires a cohesive global approach along with a clear understanding of the rapid industry changes. The market is forecasted for continued accelerated growth and Cross has many opportunities to capitalize on this growth, especially in Asia and Europe.

The company believes Ferreira has a unique blend of industry expertise and language skills to develop this business for Cross. Ferreira will continue to report to Joe Nerney.

Since arriving at Cross in March 2007, Ferreira has developed the company's travel retail business, first in the Latin America and Caribbean regions and then in the entire Americas. Ferreira also took on additional responsibilities in other channels, such as domestic national accounts (Things Remembered, BJ’s, Franklin Covey, Fry’s) and the military exchanges. Ferreira identified the merchandising, branding and product requirements specific to travel retail and then developed successful programs, especially in the self-serve sector. He brings considerable experience in travel retail and was recently featured as a guest writer in the June ASUTIL edition of Americas Duty Free and Travel Retailing magazine.

Prior to joining Cross, Ferreira worked as area manager for the Latin American travel retail division of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), the largest luxury conglomerate in the world.
