Nivea set to fly high with first airline sets
Skincare brand Nivea has launched its first range of travel retail exclusive airline sets for its best-selling lip and skincare products.
Two skus have rolled out for the new year, specially developed for the inflight market.
The Nivea Crème Set will start shipping in April and contains five 30ml tins of the best-selling Nivea Crème in a small window box. It will be priced at €8 (US$9) in travel retail, which is the usual cost of buying four tins, so the fifth tin in the set is free.
The Luscious Lips Set comes in a small pink box with a window and includes five Lip Butter flavors: Original, Raspberry Rose, Macadamia, Cocoa and Coconut. The set will be priced at €12 (US$13).
The new Lip Butter flavours Cocoa and Coconut will also launch individually in April in travel retail and will retail at €2.70 (US$3) each.
The new airline sets have been created for gifting or for self-purchasing, and the tins are small enough for hand luggage.
While both airline sets are destined for inflight sales, Sigmar Werz, Beiersdorf’s Director of New Routes to Market, said: “These items are fantastically priced impulse buys and will do as well as a quick grab product by a cash desk in the airport as they will in an inflight brochure.”
