Travel Retail Solutions looks back on a blockbuster year
Travel Retail Solutions Ltd (TRS) has reported the addition of fresh brands and exciting new product development in 2016.
Thanks to Star Wars mania, sales of the Star Wars Lightsaber Toothbrush range reached over 150,000 units last year. New character designs and travel retail exclusive gift sets are set to be introduced.
Following the signing of an exclusive supply deal with the license owners of the Star Wars Fragrance Collection, TRS launched a range of six edp fragrances at World Duty Free stores across the UK, coinciding with the release of the blockbuster Disney film “Rogue One”.
Neil Jerzak, from Star Wars Fragrances, commented: “Our Star Wars fragrance collection launched in World Duty Free (UK) stores in November. Having visited the London Gatwick store personally, I must say the customer experience and engagement was incredible. The Star Wars fragrances feature in primary positions, giving the consumers an opportunity to touch, sample and experience the fragrances. We are delighted by the presentation of the product and the support offered by World Duty Free.”
The next instalment of the Star Wars story is Tangle Teezer’s collaboration with Disney. The best-selling detangling hairbrush brand will be launching two new Star Wars-themed Compact Styler brushes in February 2017 alongside brand new Disney Princess and Frozen designs.
These add to the growing list of Tangle Teezer collaborations, which include the famed fashion designers Lulu Guinness and Markus Lupfer, plus limited edition items from the Hello Kitty brand to the kitsch accessories brand Skinny Dip. Flamingo prints are in the pipeline for this summer, TRS revealed.
