Lamy is named brand of the century

Lamy,  the Heidelberg manufacturer of writing instruments, was honored with the German Standards Brand Award in the fountain pens category and added to the compendium “Brands of the Century – Lighthouses in the sea of brands'” by a high-ranking jury. This award makes Lamy a member of an exclusive circle of 250 brands, each of which represents their product category with a unique feature.

"We are delighted to receive this important award today,” says Beate Oblau, Head of Marketing. “The prize honors our brand and above all, the tradition and principles of our products and the entire company."

The elaborately-designed anniversary edition of “Brands of the Century – Lighthouses in the sea of brands” tells the story of all brands that have received the award in words and pictures. It is published both nationally and internationally by the Deutsche Standards EDITIONEN publishing house.

Since 2002, the Brands of the Century initiative has been accompanied by extensive promotional activity and media presence, for example the "Lange Nacht der Kulturmarken" [Night of Cultural Brands] in collaboration with the TV channel ZDF. This has allowed the initiative to become a significant institution in brand communications over the last 10 years.

Lamy writing instruments are represented in travel retail in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific by Swiss distributor, Travel Retail Experts. The German Standards Brand Award makes Lamy a member of an exclusive circle of 250 brands, each of which represents their product category with a unique feature
