Miniature Lauders bottle is a major success

By Jas Ryat

Demand has outweighed supply in the overwhelming success for Lauder’s miniatures (5cl)

Expectations were high when 71,000 miniatures (5cl) of the iconic Lauders bottle was produced. However, less than a year later, consumers and customers have proven that demand for the bottles outweighed the supply.

As a result, 215,000 Lauder’s miniatures have been bottled and exported out of Glasgow in less than a year.

“The feedback we have received ranges from consumers buying because it is cute to buying because it is the right size for sampling or gifting,” explains Managing Director David Sloan. In order to aid the gift giving opportunity for travelers, a black luxury pack containing three variants of Lauder’s minis has since been introduced and plays a big part in the explosive growth for the uniquely shaped Lauder’s mini bottle.

Sloan continues, “All in all it has been a great year for Lauder’s. In Asia we expect to build further on domestic growth and obtain new travel retail listings in the region. In addition, we have just bottled the second batch of our luxurious 25 yo from Lauder’s.”

News in the pipeline

Sloan reveals that a limited quantity of aged Grand Macnish whisky is currently maturing in special casks, with bottling planned for summer 2018 of its new Grand Macnish Double Matured range, comprising a 13yo finished in sweet Caribbean rum barrels, and a 15yo finished in sherry casks. This range will be launched first in the USA, but with Asian domestic markets already voicing their interest.
