The Airport Authority Hong Kong is providing rental adjustments, and concessions amount and more to relief the pressure on business operations in the industry

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) is introducing various relief measures, including rental concessions, reduction or waiver of fees and more, to help airport business partners affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a press statement, the AA acknowledged that the number of passengers at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has decreased significantly since the COVID-19 outbreak, affecting the businesses in the airport. Thus, the AA’s latest round of relief measures is meant for different airport business partners, such as airport retail and catering outlets, airlines, ground handling agents, ramp handling services companies, and aviation support service companies, etc.

The AA introduced its first round of rent concessions and other relief measures in September 2019, due the impact that social unrest has brought on businesses.

The AA said that both rounds of relief measures, together with rental adjustments and concessions, amount to around HK$1.6 billion (US$205 mil).
