Teo Chew Hoon appointed to key travel retail role at Changi Airport

Teo Chew Hoon is the new SVP of Airside Concessions at Changi Airport

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has appointed Teo Chew Hoon to the role of SVP of Airside Concessions.

Teo has over 20 years of retail and commercial operations experience, having held senior management positions in SMRT Corporation and Auric Pacific Group Limited. She has spent around a decade in the travel industry and was General Manager of DFS, Airport Operations, overseeing the travel retailer’s duty free operations at Changi Airport. Teo will report to Lim Peck Hoon, Executive Vice President, Commercial.

CAG’s Airside Concessions division oversees the management and growth of Changi Airport’s retail, food & beverage and services concessions business on the airside - within the departure and arrival transit areas. Led by its SVP, the team undertakes strategic planning, space development, leasing, operations, in-airport advertising, promotions, and manages the airport’s online shopping portal.

Teo replaces the well-respected Ivy Wong, who becomes the new SVP, Finance with a focus on strategic and business transformation.

Commenting on the management change, Lim Peck Hoon said:  “Ivy has been instrumental in building up Changi Airport’s travel retail business. Since she took leadership of the airside team in 2009, she has brought the business to new heights, with our concession sales growing by about 80% over the past six years. Under her stewardship, CAG has significantly elevated Changi’s retail experience with the introduction of many travel retail innovations, from the first-in-the-world Cosmetics & Perfumes and Liquor & Tobacco duplexes, to the signature ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ draw – which are today anchor propositions of shopping at Changi.”

She added, “As Ivy moves on to another dynamic role to shape CAG in a different capacity, we thank her for all her contributions and achievements on the retail front. At the same time, we warmly welcome Chew Hoon, who brings on board a wealth of industry experience and perspectives. With Chew Hoon, we look forward to continue supporting and building strong rapport with all our retail partners, as we pursue together the growth of our concessions at Changi.”
