ARI International and local Indonesian partner Aura Cantik have completed a joint venture transaction to operate the perfumes and cosmetics and fashion categories in the Jakarta Duty Free store in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

The contract will run for five years.

Passenger numbers are expected to hit 7 million per year once the transfer from the old terminal is complete.

“The shopping area is a spectacular transformation from retailing in the old Terminal 2, combining strong design features and new and exciting fashion brands,” ARI said.

The main store initially opened in May 2017 with the total concession area covering 1,430 square meters. It includes standalone fashion stores for Coach, Bally, Tumi, Montblanc, Hugo Boss, Longchamp, Michael Kors, Aigner and Victoria’s Secret.

Anthony Kenny, Acting CEO, ARI, said: “We are delighted to partner with Aura Cantik to operate our first store in Indonesia. Sales since we opened have been very promising, and this augurs well for the future.”

Prem Bulchand Bhojwani, President Director of the Aura Group of Companies, added: “I am pleased we are partnering with ARI on the perfumes and cosmetics and luxury fashion shops for Terminal 3.

“Our strength locally, with ARI’s international experience, puts our new business in a strong position to deliver a great customer experience and retail operation.”
