Shilla Duty Free opens Gimpo Airport store
Shilla Duty Free held an opening ceremony for its Seoul Gimpo International Airport store today
With the opening of the Shilla Gimpo International Airport store, the company completes what it calls the ‘Troika’, which refers to store presence in three locations – Incheon, Jeju and Seoul
Shilla Duty Free’s Gimpo International Airport store officially began operations today. In celebration of the grand opening, the first customer of the store was gifted a flower bouquet and souvenir.
As part of its opening, Shilla is also running several promotions to welcome travelers. For instance, travelers who spend more than US$ 1 will receive a sure-win lottery scratch coupon. This lottery will run till 31 January. Travelers can look forward to prizes such as a piece of real gold shaped like a key, a Shilla Duty Free voucher worth KRW 100,000 (US$ 89) and a travel pouch.
As reported yesterday, the opening of Shilla’s Gimpo Airport store completes what the retailer terms as the “Double Troika” – the Global Troika consisting Incheon, Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as the “Korea Troika” consisting Incheon, Gimpo and Jeju.
Gimpo Airport is South Korea’s main gateway serving short-haul routes that connect South Korea, China, Japan and other Asian nations.
