Lotte Duty Free receives ISMS-P certification in recognition of its commitment to protecting consumers’ data

Lotte Duty Free has achieved the ISMS-P certification in recognition of its commitment to protecting consumers’ data

Lotte Duty Free has achieved the ISMS-P certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) under the Ministry of Science, Technology, Information and Communication, in recognition of its commitment to protect consumers’ data.

The ISMS-P certification is the nation's highest and most comprehensive data protection management and privacy certification system for enterprises. It aims to protect customers’ information based on compliance to certification standards, set in the accordance with the Information and Communication Network Act.

In order to obtain the certification, 102 certification criteria are evaluated to reflect 80 information protection-related and 22 personal information-related security requirements. To attain the certification, Lotte Duty Free had made an extensive effort of identifying information assets, checking vulnerabilities, risk assessment and setting up risk management plans.

In addition, the duty-free retailer also obtained the ISO27001, PCI-DSS certification to further strengthen its information protection for local and overseas branches. Lotte had also partnered with KAIT (Korea Information and Telecommunication Promotion Association) to introduce information protection readiness evaluation system so as to provide support to other companies.

"With this ISMS-P certification, we have proved the security of our online and offline services," said Lee Jong-hwan, chief information protection officer at Lotte Duty Free.
