The Shilla Duty Free to reopen Jeju and Seoul stores on Feb 7 after disinfection
The Shilla Duty Free’s Seoul and Jeju downtown stores will be reopening their doors on February 7, after disinfection. The retailer had previously announced a temporary shutdown on February 2 after receiving confirmation that a patient who contracted the Coronavirus visited its Seoul store in January.
Shilla’s Jeju downtown store was also temporarily closed since February 2, after the Jeju provincial government announced that a Chinese customer who visited the store had been confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus. The customer had returned to China.
In a press notice, Shilla said that it had actively cooperated with the health authorities in epidemiological investigations and thoroughly disinfected all the facilities and supplies of the stores during its temporary closure.
According to The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Coronavirus that escapes from the human body dies within hours of exposure to the atmosphere, and the places where the confirmed patient visits are safe after proper disinfection measures are completed.
Commenting on the situation, the Shilla Duty Free spokesperson said: “The Shilla Duty Free places top priority on the safety and health of customers and employees and will continue to cooperate with relevant authorities to prevent infections and do our best to carry out quarantine activities.”
Meanwhile, The Shilla Duty Free will temporarily change its business hours to the following timings from February 7 until further notice.
