Lotte Duty Free donates US$254,000 to Korean Red Cross to support fight against novel coronavirus

Lotte Duty Free donates KRW300 million to Korean Red Cross to fight against novel coronavirus outbreak

Lotte Duty Free is donating KRW 300 million (US$254,000) to support the victims of the coronavirus pandemic in Wuhan and other communities in China.

The funds were originally meant for Lotte’s 40th anniversary celebrations, which was scheduled on February 14.

Lotte said the donation will be sent to the Korean Red Cross to provide support to the Korean communities in China, as well as citizens of Wuhan.

Additionally, Lotte Duty Free will also work with Korean Red Cross to provide affiliated schools and vulnerable Korean children with masks, hand sanitizers, wet wipes and toothbrush sets, as well as information guides on the new coronavirus.

Lotte Duty Free CEO, Lee Kap, said: “I hope that [our donation] will help and comfort the affected Chinese communities and vulnerable children.”
