Ever Rich Duty Free leads vaccination effort in Taiwan

By Laura Shirk

Earlier this month, the COVID-19 vaccine was expanded to those in second and third priority groups in Taiwan

The COVID-19 vaccination recently started on April 8 in Taiwan. The Taiwan Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) offered the second and third priority groups to be vaccinated against COVID-19 last week. With Ever Rich Duty Free airport staff members belonging to third priority groups, Kevin Chiang, President, Ever Rich Duty Free, led its supervisor team to receive the first AstraZeneca vaccine on April 16.

The COVID-19 vaccine was expanded to those in second and third groups in Taiwan on April 12.

Confronting the challenge of COVID-19, Ever Rich has more than 2,500 frontline border workers continuing to provide service at Taipei Songshan International Airport, Taoyuan International Airport, Taichung International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport.

With the magnitude of this impact, Ever Rich holds the baseline operation, putting full staff to work and providing airports with additional precautionary measures such as free masks, shops and public area sanitization and individual health check.

Chiang indicated that vaccination of frontline staff at Taiwan gateway is not only to protect the health and safety of themselves and employees, but also to create a safe environment for all passengers, strengthen their confidence and prepare for the border opening in the future.

The country has done a good job of reducing the spread of COVID-19. With the expectation of international border opening soon, Ever Rich staff members as airport frontline workers will complete the vaccination followed by the arrangement of Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Facing the challenge of the pandemic, Ever Rich holds strong its position and remains proactive. It is the responsibility of the company to implement health and safety measures to protect all of its team members and passengers.
