Dubai Duty Free celebrates UAE Flag Day
Dubai Duty Free’s executive team and staff mark UAE Flag Day at the operator’s office in Ramool
Dubai Duty Free celebrated UAE Flag Day – and the UAE’s 50th anniversary – led by Executive Vice Chairman & CEO Colm McLoughlin together with the executive team and staff representatives.
The ceremony took place at 11am in front of Dubai Duty Free’s head office in Ramool, with the hoisting of the UAE flag accompanied by the playing of the UAE National Anthem.
Speaking on the occasion, McLoughlin said: “Celebrating the UAE Flag Day, which coincides this year with the Year of the 50th, is a historic occasion to express pride in this nation, and we are proud to join other entities to celebrate the many achievements, excellence and wise leadership that the UAE has established throughout the years.”
UAE Flag Day is the day to unify people living and working in the UAE, which was initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Dubai Ruler. It started in November 2013 to commemorate the accession of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the Nation.
