Duty Free Shop Puerto Iguazú, located on the border of Argentina and Brazil, has reopened after 20 months without commercial activity, Argentine operator London Supply Group has announced.

Under a strict health protocol due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the shopping destination welcomed back customers on December 1.

The reopening, keenly awaited by local and foreign visitors, is part of the comprehensive reactivation process of Puerto Iguazú as a tourist destination.

“Without a doubt, this news represents much more than a simple return to activities,” London Supply Group said. “It is the result of months of effort and commitment that have mobilized all the London Supply Group team, as well as society at large who today, after such difficult times, can see the sun come out and shine again.”

Duty Free Shop Puerto Iguazú, located near the bridge head that connects Argentina with Brazil and surrounded by a magnificent jungle environment, is described by the operator as an example of innovation, creativity and originality.

“Organized as a store by categories, it breaks all conventions and traditional patterns in the field of duty free stores, managing to become another tourist attraction in the region of Iguazú Falls, one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature,” the company said.

The store has an area of 10,000 square meters exclusively devoted to commercial premises, carrying international brands of electronics, fragrances and cosmetics, beverages, clothing and groceries. It also has covered parking, outdoor parking, recreation spaces, bar and restaurant.
