Lacoste brings bags of style to Cannes

By Melissa Silva

As Lacoste prepares to celebrate its 80th anniversary, the TFWA World Exhibition held in Cannes is set for a showcase of the latest in new brand additions from the iconic French fashion company, featuring modern takes on classic and contemporary new and colorful products.

The products set for launch include the following:

Polo Shirt

Created by the tennis player, Rene Lacoste (nicknamed The Crocodile), the "petit pique" jersey knit is fine mesh knit, with a honeycomb structure. There are 90 variations of the polo with styles for men, women and children, which are offered in a wide choice of fabrics in 55 colors.

New Iconic Cathy Bags

Lacoste is releasing two smaller versions of its iconic luxury "Cathy" Bag—the Small Cathy Bag and the Cathy Clutch—as well as new sportswear backpacks. The Small Cathy Bag is a bucket bag with patent leather handles. Available in navy velvet calfskin or grey-grained leather, it can be worn day or night, over the shoulder or across the body.

The Cathy Clutch is available in black, navy or khaki velvet calfskin. Designed to hold the bare minimum, it can either be carried casually in hand or worn elegantly on the shoulder with its removable strap.

The new sportswear backpacks are available in 12 colors, and offer small models for women and larger models for men. Multiple features include: reinforced laptop and mobile pockets, padded back and non-slip shoulder straps, a fully lined interior, outer zipped pocket and leather zip puller.

Catherine Bonelli, International Travel Retail Director at Devanlay Lacoste explained: “Our ranges of bags always offer a perfect travel retail option, giving exceptional value for money whilst combining practicality with superb design. They are ideal not only as an immediate travel solution, but also provide a great choice for gifting.”
