The Avondale brand, whose ethos is Terra Est Vita (‘Soil is Life’), pioneered the BioLOGIC methodology that incorporates certified organic, biodynamic and scientific farming principles.
Meanwhile, Cederberg wine comes from South Africa’s highest winery at 1,000 meters above sea level and is still produced by the fifth generation of the Nieuwoudt family.
Collectively, Avondale and Cederberg have over 12 First and Business Class pouring wines on six of the world’s top 10 airlines, including All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, Asiana, Cathay Pacific, Etihad and Emirates.
Avondale Cyclus is being poured on Emirates and Cederberg Sauvignon Blanc on ANA and Asiana.
The firm also offers wine from the Delaire Graff Estate, known as “The Jewel of the Cape Winelands”, which is located in South Africa’s Stellenbosch region.
In addition, Deetlefs Estate, dating back to 1822, is situated in the Breedekloof region producing Pinotage, and is still owned and operated by the seventh generation of the family.
The popular Ernie Els wine is a Stellenbosch winery born out of the passion and vision of one of the world’s top sports icons. The range consists of The Signature Bordeaux blend, the Proprietors, the Varietals and the Big Easy.
The award-winning Groot Constantia wines come from South Africa’s oldest winery dating back to 1685.
Kleinood Estate, another Stellenbosch supplier, produces Tamboerskloof Syrah, Viognier, and Rose. The Syrah received 94 Wine Advocate Robert Parker points and is one of South Africa’s top ranked wines. The Viognier is being poured by ANA in First Class this year.
Napier, from the Wellington area, produces wines with intense fruit flavors. The Napier Red Medallion was made famous in Japan and Asia through a feature in the Japanese manga wine comic book, “Tears of God”.
88 Vineyards Merlot Medium Sweet is part of DIverse Flavours' own creations that offer consumers a unique South African wine
Finally, Diverse Flavours’ own 88 Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot Medium Sweet wines target consumers who want something more unique, according to Diverse Flavors Managing Director Anthony Budd. During the Cannes show, 88 Vineyards Shiraz Medium Sweet wine will also be launched.
New to the portfolio are Ghost Corner wines, inspired by the extreme and mysterious landscape at the southernmost tip of Africa.
The spotlight will be on a Pinot Noir with prominent red fruit of ripe cherries and sweet raspberries with an undertone of earthy, mushroom nuances. A silky palate with berries and delicate oak components follow through.
