Diverse Flavours to highlight top-flight South African wines at Cannes
Diverse Flavours will highlight over 50 of its distinctive and award-winning South African wines at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes next week (stand: Red Village L34). The range continues to perform strongly in Asia and the Middle East, in both the airport duty free shop channel and on major airlines in First and Business Class pouring, said Diverse Flavours Founder Anthony Budd. A new and exciting wine and chocolate pairing pack will be launched for the award-winning Groot Constantia, South Africa’s oldest winery dating back to 1685. The chocolate has been made to match the wine. The combination of wine and chocolate has proven to be a great cross-seller, said Budd. Ernie Els Wines is a Stellenbosch winery born out of the passion and vision of one of the world’s top sports icons. New “Big Easy” packaging will be introduced at the show, alongside a new promotional pack that includes two bottles of Ernie Els wine and a sleeve of branded golf balls. Avondale winery pioneered the BioLOGICÂ methodology that incorporates certified organic, biodynamic and scientific farming principles in order to create living systems naturally. Cederberg is the highest winery from one of the most remote wine-producing areas in the world, and is produced by the fifth generation of the family. Between them, Avondale and Cederberg have had nine First and Business Class pouring wines on four of the world’s top 10 airlines. Meanwhile, Napier has been made famous in Japan and Asia through a feature in the much-respected Japanese manga wine comic book, Tears of God. Deetlefs, the second oldest winery in South Africa, has been run by the same family since 1822, and is a top Pinotage producer. In addition, Raats Family Wines is a specialist Cabernet Franc producer and has consistently recorded some of the highest Wine Advocate scores for South African wines. Diemersfontein, located in the town of Wellington, pioneers the coffee Pinotage. Four of its wines will be showcased: Estate Pinotage, Coffee Pinotage, Blackberry Cabernet Sauvignon and Chocolate Shiraz. Kleinood Estate makes Tamboerskloof Syrah, Viognier, and Rose in Stellenbosch. The Syrah received 94 Wine Advocate Robert Parker points and is one of South Africa’s top-ranked wines. The Diverse Flavours portfolio offers a wide range at multiple price point to meet consumer needs, noted Budd.
