RAK Airport enhances operations as travel to the emirate booms
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport officially inaugurated its new-look duty free shopping area on September 2, following extensive renovations.
Senior officials from the Ras Al Khaimah government, RAK International Airport management, and Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiled the remodeled stores.
The state-of-the-art duty free retail space in the Departures and Arrivals terminals were upgraded in response to an increasing number of passengers to the UAE airport in recent years, the Saudi Gazette reported.
RAK Duty Free further enhances the shopping experience by housing a wide selection of prestigious brands that include Jimmy Choo, Hugo Boss, Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Diesel, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Channel, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Davidoff, Burberry and Bulgari, as well as premium confectionery, beverages and cosmetics brands.
The enhanced airport experience for visitors follows the announcement that the TUI Group tourism business, and ITAKA will extend the partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) with six flights operating weekly from four airports in Poland, as a result of the increasing popularity of the Emirate with Polish visitors.
The forthcoming winter season will also see RAK International Airport welcoming two weekly flights from Russia and a weekly flight from Luxembourg.
With a commitment to attracting visitors from key European markets, Ras Al Khaimah International airport and RAKTDA also secured the first direct flight from Prague to Ras Al Khaimah last summer, in cooperation with Czech tour operator Fischer.

In a concerted effort to meet the growing needs of local and regional travelers, RAK International Airport also announced it has signed a long-term agreement with Flynas, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to help Indian pilgrims travel to the Kingdom for the 2019 Hajj season.
