Dubai Duty Free celebrates UAE Flag Day
Dubai Duty Free held its UAE National Flag Day celebration on November 2, led by the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Colm McLoughlin.
Other executives present included Salah Tahlak, Executive Vice President – Corporate Services and Nic Bruwer, Executive Vice President – Commercial along with the other executive team and staff representatives.
The UAE flag was hoisted with the UAE National Anthem playing in front of Dubai Duty Free’s head office in Ramoul.
The ceremony, which took place at 11am, brings the employees, both Emiratis and expatriates together.
Commenting on the celebration, Colm McLoughlin said: “The UAE is a welcoming land for people from all over the world and Dubai Duty Free took this chance to celebrate our multicultural working environment.”
UAE Flag Day was initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Dubai Ruler. It started in November 2013 to commemorate the accession of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the Nation.
It reflects a symbol of unity, patriotism and loyalty to the UAE. Moreover, it shows the respect to nation’s visionary leadership, adhering to the values of the union established by the UAE's Founding Fathers.
