Qatar Duty Free sponsors Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Golf Tournament

By Hibah Noor

Qatar Duty Free (QDF) was an official partner of the Commercial Bank Qatar (CBQ) Masters Golf tournament 2019, which took place at the Doha Golf Club from March 7-10, 2019.

The tournament, won by South African golfer Justin Harding, saw 144 world-class professional golfers compete, including 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjorn, two-time Qatar Masters winner Paul Lawrie, as well as two of Qatar’s most promising players, Saleh Al Kaabi and Jaham Al Kuwari.

Qatar Duty Free also sponsored the Hole in One competition, which awarded its winner a US$155,000 voucher to be redeemed at Qatar Duty Free.

QDF offered visitors a chance to test their golf skills at the QDF-themed booth located in the entertainment village. Together with photo opportunities and a live screening of the tournament, visitors had a chance to win a selection of luxury products from QDF brands and boutiques at Hamad International Airport, including the recently-opened Qatar Airways Travel Boutique.

Qatar Duty Free Senior Vice President Bruce Bowman said: “We are delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, one of the most highly anticipated events on Qatar’s sporting calendar. The finest golfing professionals from around the world come together in Qatar to compete in this tournament, which is very much in alignment with the county’s 2030 vision to become a premier sports destination and host of major global sporting events.”

Qatar Duty Free also sponsors the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2019 Tournament and the Qatar Total Open Women’s Tennis Tournament 2019.
