WH Smith to open stores in Bahrain Airport’s new terminal

By Hibah Noor

WH Smith’s two Bahrain Airport stores will be located landside and airside and are due to open in Autumn 2019

WH Smith has secured an agreement to open two stores, in partnership with That Al Salasil, in the new terminal in Bahrain International Airport.

The stores, which are due to open in Autumn 2019, will be located landside and airside and offer a wide range of products, including books, magazines, stationery, travel accessories, confectionery and drinks. A focus on Arabic books will draw on the expertise of That Al Salasil.

WH Smith currently operates 12 stores in partnership with That Al Salasil in Kuwait International Airport and in malls, including a flagship store in The Avenues, a waterfront shopping centre situated along Bahrain Bay, which is over 400 square meters.

Bahrain will be the ninth Middle East airport in which WH Smith is present, joining Doha, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Kuwait, Amman, Salalah, Dammam and soon to come Riyadh.
