Iraq Duty Free has just announced the completion of Phase 4 of the renovation of all duty free shops in Iraq’s airports.

The newly built arrivals shop in Basrah International Airport opened on February 15, 2021. This 84-square-meter shop offers all the popular brands of Fragrances, Cosmetics, Confectionary, Liquor and Tobacco to those arriving in Basrah.

“The newly opened shop and the closure of the old one could not have been achieved without the support of the official government figures of Iraqi Civil Aviation, Basrah Airport management and personnel along with the dedication of the Iraq Duty Free management and staff members in bringing a modern look and a world class design adding to the other duty-free shops in the other airports that they currently operate,” says Ahmed Kamal, Chairman, Iraq Duty Free.

Now that Phase 4 is complete, the focus will move to Phase 5. The new Kirkuk International Airport will have two brand-new shop spaces: 140 square meters in departures and 110 square meters in arrivals. These shops are expected to open in July 2021.
